SAVEUR D'EBENE ~ AFFORDABLE HAUTE CUISINE

I knew about this place for some time but only got round to visiting it today.

Ecole Hôtelière Sir Gaëtan Duval is a Hotel and Tourism training school based in Ebene. The school offers many courses ranging from management, pastry making and food production but did you know that there's also a restaurant there called Saveurs d’Ebene!

The restaurant is there for the students to learn the skills, undergo training and do their exams but I was pleasantly surprised with my visit. Everyday, they serve a different 3 course meal and you can request to have a weekly menu emailed to you so you can check out what’s on offer daily. You get to sample haute cuisine prepared by the Culinary Arts students along with the services of the Hopsitality Management students.

Here’s the menu for the day I visited:

PERSONALISED TREASURES FOR KIDS ~ MY 1ST YEARS

Image: My 1st years

Staying on the personalising theme from my post about personalised books (see post here), I thought I’d do an update on one of my favourite kids personalised gift site. I hadn’t been on it for a while but since my last post, it seems that they have many new things and I’m loving it! So many cute things for Leo J I love the fact that most items come in boy/girl options and also the modern grey unisex option which I prefer.

Here’s my top picks, broken down into 3 price ranges:

THE BEACH HOUSE ~ RESTAURANT REVIEW

I’m sure everyone in Mauritius has heard about this well known place but I only discovered this lovely casual restaurant/bar about 2 years ago and since then I’ve been there numerous times with friends and family.

The Beach House is located directly on the beach facing the blue lagoon of Grand Baie, North of the island. It’s the perfect place for sunset cocktails as well as lazy weekend lunches and this time we went for Sunday lunch to celebrate my early birthday.

It’s always packed during evenings and weekends so best to book in advance and also see if you can get one of the tables right next to the beach so you enjoy the picturesque view in all its glory! We got there nice and early on Sunday.
