View as you walk into the lobby
We stayed here for 1 night to celebrate Leo's first birthday (there was no party as we had just relocated and he had no friends) and also took this opportunity to get some lovely photos done by Mayline Ning.
Lovely cake from the hotel
I can't really remember why we chose Dinarobin over all the other hotels but I must have remembered that the beach here was lovely and I wanted some shots of Leo done on the beach. Photoshoot didn't go according to plan (as it was Leo's first time on sand and he HATED it) but Mayline managed to take some lovely photos of us.

LOCATION
On the same coast as St Regis (see post here for more details), you will find Dinarobin Hotel Resort & Spa. Part of the Beachcomber group, it is a 5+ star luxury hotel situated on what's been called the most scenic shoreline in Mauritius on the South West peninsula with the amazing backdrop of Le Morne mountain.
White sandy beach
The good thing about staying here is that you get to share the facilities with its neighbouring sister hotel, Le Paradis! So it's like experiencing 2 hotels for the price of 1. You get to dine at all restaurants, use all the facilities and even the golf course at Le Paradis. Brilliant!! Unfortunately for us, we were only staying for 1 night with a 1 year old so we didn't get to experience much of the restaurants nor the facilities :(
STYLE
It was surprisingly quiet and very intimate, like a village-style setting. Dinarobin is the quieter choice over le paradis, perfect for couples and families with younger children. The hotel feels a little more exclusive than Le Paradis which is probably more suited for families with teenagers and younger guests.

FACILITIES
For starters, you get access to all facilities of Le Paradis including the golf course.
There are private pools for every block of suites so the guests have somewhere for some semi-privacy. It also means that the guests are evenly scattered throughout the hotel and not gathering around one main pool and overcrowding the beach.
There's also:
- Spa By Clarins with 6 treatment rooms
- Departure lounge with shower rooms and dressing rooms
- Access to 3 golf courses
- Small art gallery within the hotel
ROOMS
Typical Mauritian colonial style villas with thatched roof housing suites with a generous sized balcony or terrace space.
The suites are positioned in 6 crescents with 5 of them having pools. There's also a large main pool which is one of the biggest I have seen located in the middle of the hotel.
Junior Suite

Spacious bathroom
We stayed in a junior suite. Ours was one of the ones furthest from the beach but we didn't mind. It was more private and quiet with the pool only a few steps away.
The suite was spacious with plenty of light. Colonial style and may be a tad outdated for my taste but nonetheless it was spacious and airy with a big bathroom and generous sized outdoor terrace. There are 4 restaurants to choose from at Dinarobin but in total there are 8 restaurants if you include the sister hotel Le Paradis next door. We only stayed for 1 night so we had the buffet dinner which was Chinese on the day. Nothing spectacular sadly but the catch of the day sashimi (tuna) was fresh and lovely!

Dessert selection
All Beachcomber hotels are family friendly. This hotel has a kids club and one facility that stands out is the small scale soccer field which many of the other clubs don't have.
The Family suites have specially designed beds for young children, baby amenities such as bottle warmers, sterilisers and baby toiletries.
We stayed in a junior suite but was welcomed with baby/kids toiletries
I recommend booking the half board rate which includes buffet breakfast and dinner at any of the restaurants. You can book your dream holiday here.
TIPS
- It's fairly sheltered from the South Easterly breeze so good even during the cooler winter months
- The Club - The Club at Dinarobin is the only one of its kind in Mauritius. The Club at Dinarobin is offered free to guests who upgrade to the Club Suites and Villas... Some of perks are complimentary snacks and drinks throughout the day, priority for early check-in and late check-out, club concierge who will arrange everything from restaurant bookings to spa treatments and also the benefits of using the Club lounge itself.
- One of the crescents is adult only for a more peaceful experience
